The Sleepless lands

stage one of the sleep cycle. which is only supposed to last a few minutes, is when the heart rate, breathing rate and body temperature lower, and the muscles relax. Bizarre images and/or fantasies may begin to float around the mind. Sometimes even hallucinations. The missing flock and the locusts is meant to be an ironic analogy, accompanied by reason of famine, this is meant to symbolize how thoughts keep the would-be sleeper awake, and by over thinking, the insomnia is only made more severe.
